King Louis XV’s favorite, Madame de Pompadour, contributed to bring into fashion the Rococo style which makes this suite so appealing. Its extreme refinement is shown in the precious marquetry of the chest of drawers, decorated with engraved bronze, the finely gilded wood of the bed, and the pastoral upholstery of the armchair.
