TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

Following the retirement of Mr Éric Tripard, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Christophe Cassaro as Technical Director. A person of both action and reflection, he embodies consistent operational rigour, a broad vision, and a deep commitment to the values of heritage and excellence.

Born in Cannes, Christophe Cassaro initially studied in a scientific field before joining the Compagnons du Devoir. Early on, he discovered a genuine calling for technical and maintenance professions, dedicating himself with remarkable commitment even within his own school. It is a path he has followed ever since – driven by curiosity and passion. His career, balancing luxury hospitality and specialised industries, has provided him with a rare depth of experience. He started in Mandelieu, where he quickly rose to Technical Director, then continued his career at the Majestic Barrière in Cannes, within the Eiffage Group, and later at MDCV – a collective of châteaux and vineyards in the Var region, including the Château de Berne. This variety of experience shaped his expertise, adaptability, and a finely tuned understanding of the industry’s operational realities.

His decision to join Le Negresco was a natural choice, born from a genuine fondness for the building itself. ‘Joining Le Negresco,’ he says, ‘means dedicating oneself to the guardianship of a historic landmark, with a unique identity where every room tells a story of a journey.’ Passionate about heritage restoration, he works with deep respect for the past while offering a contemporary perspective, attuned to the challenges of an independent House. ‘Here, the goal is not to standardise, but to enhance what already exists – sublimating it through a subtle and exacting coherence.’

Since assuming his role, Christophe Cassaro has managed technical operations, facility maintenance, and the coordination of upcoming projects. His approach is based on a systemic view of maintenance, guided by attentive listening, responsiveness, and a keen eye for detail. Supported by a team of experienced professionals, he guarantees the smooth operation of daily activities. This human and technical synergy provides a vital foundation for addressing the daily challenges of a legendary hotel. Renowned for his precision, organisational discipline, and clarity of communication, Christophe Cassaro stands out for his analytical skills and preventive maintenance approach. He emphasises the importance of technical foresight – the key to managing investments effectively while staying grounded in daily realities. ‘A hotel is a living place,’ he likes to remind us.
