Barbara Oliva
HEAD OF RESERVATIONS

Barbara Oliva, Head of Reservations at Le Negresco, is guided by a simple belief: hospitality is an art.

For her, an outstanding stay begins well before the guest arrives. It takes shape from the very first exchange, through attentive listening, clear communication and close attention to detail. It also depends on understanding each request, anticipating unspoken needs and making every guest feel welcome before they have even stepped inside.

Born in Nice to an Italian family, Barbara was drawn to the world of hospitality from an early age. She found joy in welcoming guests, caring for them and creating a genuine sense of comfort, a thread that has guided her throughout her career.

She began her career in hospitality in 2002, with the opening of a four-star hotel in Nice. This early experience helped her develop flexibility and responsiveness, while reinforcing the importance of attention to detail in her profession. It also strengthened her desire to grow within a high-standard, fast-paced environment.

Her career led her to Monaco, where she spent nearly 20 years at Novotel and the Fairmont Monte Carlo. Working with an international clientele, she deepened her understanding of luxury hospitality and cultivated a professional approach rooted in respect for teams, precision, and a strong commitment to work well done.

In 2022, she took on a new role in Capri as Revenue & Reservations Manager at Hotel La Palma, part of the Oetker Hotels group. The move allowed her to reconnect with her Italian heritage while embracing a fresh professional challenge.

When she joined Le Negresco in 2023 as Assistant to the Director of Sales and Reservations, she felt an immediate connection. Beyond its status as an iconic hotel, she discovered a place where human values are central to the experience. ‘In the luxury industry, some expect aloofness, but here I’ve encountered simplicity, respect and genuine humanity.’

Promoted to Head of Reservations in October 2025, Barbara now manages a team of four. Her daily responsibilities include anticipating guest expectations, liaising between departments and guiding her team towards a shared goal: ensuring that every guest feels welcome before they arrive.

Her management approach is based on trust, active listening and the empowerment of each team member. She believes that skills can be learnt, while values such as respect, commitment and team spirit must be nurtured and cultivated.

As the first point of contact between guests and Le Negresco, the Reservations department plays an essential role in shaping the guest experience. Through her precision, attentiveness and deeply human understanding of hospitality, Barbara helps give tangible expression to the spirit of the House.
