Depart to return stronger. Such is the story of Javier Guijarro, Front Office Manager at Le Negresco — a journey defined by purpose, perseverance, and quiet determination.

From a young age, Javier dreamed of entering the world of five-star hospitality, drawn by the allure of its refinement and the elegance of its service. “Coming from a small town in Spain, far removed from the world of luxury, I never imagined I’d make it… and yet…”
After studying business management and later specialising in hospitality, he discovered the French Riviera during his end-of-studies internship in 2011 and never left.

Before long, he began to hear whispers of Madame Augier’s legacy. Captivated by the spirit and independence of Le Negresco, Javier set himself the challenge of becoming part of its narrative. In 2013, that dream materialised when he joined the hotel as a receptionist. By 2016, having “given his all” and eager for new perspectives, he chose to step away to experience different environments, broaden his skills, and grow in responsibility.

Eight years later, to his great surprise, the very position he once aspired to at Le Negresco became available, offering the opportunity to unite his professional purpose with the DNA of a House that reflects his values. His return is both awaited and warmly welcomed.

As times have changed, so has everyone. Javier rediscovered Le Negresco with renewed motivation and a resolute ambition: “To contribute to its success, to the rebirth of a hotel that rightfully deserved its place among the finest, for its heritage, its guests, and its unwavering dedication to service excellence.” Numerous projects are underway to further enhance the hotel’s beauty. The quality of life at work constantly evolves, shaped by a managerial philosophy grounded in autonomy, flexibility, and individual empowerment. The environment is inherently human, rooted in mutual respect. (…) Right now, all I feel is gratitude for this second chance offered by Le Negresco.” And another, for his parents, to whom he owes everything, and for whom he strove each day to do better, enriched by experience, ever seeking to make them proud.

Javier’s quiet strength lies in his sincerity, deep sense of humanity, and thorough knowledge of the profession. Working closely with the valet and luggage teams, he oversees reception and leads a team of twelve, providing them with continuous training in service excellence. Today, he serves as an ambassador for the values of Le Negresco: dialogue, teamwork, accountability, excellence, and dedication—values he embodies with conviction, humility, and grace.
