To say that our Banquets and Seminars Manager, Michel Chelin leads a fulfilling life would be an understatement. Originally from the Gers region and the son of a pastry chef, he was immersed in the world of gastronomy from an early age, all while pursuing his passion for volleyball. After obtaining a BTS in Sales and a Bachelor’s degree from business school, Michel chose to return to his first calling: gastronomy and catering.

A true devotee of hard work, he began his career in a two-star MICHELIN restaurant before holding a variety of positions within the hotel sector, encompassing restaurant and brasserie management, operations direction, and beverage service. Michel joined Le Negresco four years ago, bringing with him a strong sense of leadership and the rigour essential to his responsibilities. His strength lies in his enduring passion for the profession, a vibrant and exacting world that has inspired him for over 30 years.

Today, Michel is driven by the desire to lead by example for the next generation, applying a working style that is both flexible and precise: “Being like everyone else doesn’t interest me. I can be demanding, but I know exactly what I want.” In banqueting, his energy seems inexhaustible—every challenge finds its resolution. His philosophy is resolute:
“The finest service is the one that remains invisible. And everyone plays a vital role in that dynamic.”

Constantly striving for excellence to honour the trust placed in him, Michel makes the impossible possible through his determination and innovative spirit: “I am always thinking about how to enhance our guests’ experience”, he explains, creating countless moments of connection and conviviality within Le Negresco, and making each reception a lasting memory.
