Thomas Joossen
DIRECTOR N LA PLAGE

For the past year, Thomas Joossen has been at the helm of N La Plage. A native of Marseille who once lived in England, Thomas brings with him a taste for challenge, much like those he faces during his handball training sessions. Taking on the leadership of this unique Riviera destination while honouring the spirit of Le Negresco was a true calling: “I consider myself someone deeply committed. The opportunity to leave a mark on an institution is rare, particularly one like Le Negresco, which is, in many ways, the Eiffel Tower of Nice.”

Previously Associate Director to Manuel Enfedaque, Director of Food and Beverage, Thomas had always maintained strong ties with his former colleague. When a key position became available, Manuel naturally thought of him. After considering various options, Thomas realised he already had the experience and expertise required for the role. Driven by a profound desire to enhance the hotel’s prestige, he embraced the function — thus began his journey with Le Negresco.

Now entering its third season, N La Plage has already earned several distinctions, including certification as Maître Restaurateur, along with the Clef Verte and Qualité Tourisme labels.
This year, the venue pursues its natural progression: “All of the shower cabins and changing rooms have been completely renovated, and the restaurant menu has been reimagined, while still featuring the beloved dishes that delighted our guests last summer.” This reinvention reflects the genuine team spirit and Le Negresco’s enduring commitment to excellence.

Recruitment plays a central role in Thomas Joossen’s day-to-day responsibilities. This quest for talent encompasses both human qualities and technical skills. “Interpersonal skills matter just as much as expertise”, he explains, emphasising respect, cohesion, and motivation as core values. “At N La Plage, no two days are alike. We have to be quick, efficient, and always ready to offer a personalised experience to every guest.”
